The Impact Lab is inviting creative changemaker to the first ever West Africa edition of the Climate Story Lab tagged climate story lab Lagos 2023.
The Impact Lab aim to bring together creatives working in film, photography and other art forms, selected through an open call, for a two day training and capacity building session where they will learn about how to use their voice, storytelling projects and creative skills to drive social impact, on the climate crisis in the local context through collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
Following the impact lab, selected projects will participate in the Climate Story Lab event in October with the intention of sparking collaboration between the storytellers and invited partners ranging from civil society, policy makers, academia, researchers, journalists, community activists and community organizers.
This event is open to creative storytelling projects that seek to create awareness on climate change and how it affects other social issues such as water, health and human security. They are looking for unique storytelling projects with the potential to drive strategic change.
Event Plan for Climate Story Lab Lagos 2023
The event is broken down into two – The impact Lab and the climate story lab.
The Impact lab will take place between 3 – 4 October 2023, virtually while the Climate Story Lab will take place between 18 – 19 October 2023 in Lagos, Nigeria and is an in-person event.

Eligibility Criteria for Climate Story Lab Lagos 2023
- Be 18 years or older.
- Be a national of any West African country.
- Submit a project that is in production, post-production or distribution and outreach stages.
- Must be a rightful author or co-author of submitted project
- Be emerging or established creative practitioners using or interested in using storytelling to talk about climate change.
- Commit to attend all components of the Climate Story Lab Lagos.
